National Coalition for LGBT Health Announces New National Director

Dear Friends,

The Executive Committee is pleased to announce that Rebecca Fox has been selected unanimously as the new Director for the National Coalition for LGBT Health. Rebecca brings strong coalition building skills, a solid background in policy analysis, and a deep commitment to LGBT health issues. She will begin working full-time for the Coalition at the end of October.

Rebecca currently serves as Assistant Director for Public Policy at the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS), where she is a member of the senior management team, helping to set strategic plans, budgets and programmatic direction. At SIECUS, she has done extensive outreach to state and local organizations, building partnerships to further reproductive and sexual health policies, and conducted detailed analyses of federal and state legislation and funding. Rebecca also has broad experience conducting policy-related trainings on Capitol Hill, in state houses, at national conferences and at the United Nations.

Rebecca has been an active volunteer with Coalition member Whitman-Walker Clinic where she worked in the Lesbian Services Program and in Legal Services. She is a also past Board President of the Washington Area Clinic Defense Task Force. Rebecca is an adjunct professor at her alma mater, George Washington University, where she earned a degree in Psychology and Women's Studies.

We know that with her skills and experience, Rebecca will play a crucial role in helping the Coalition further its goals regarding cultural competency, access, research, education and eliminating disparities for the LGBT community. We look forward to Rebecca joining our team and introducing her to you at our upcoming fall meeting (details on the meeting to follow shortly).
