Welcome to the website of the first annual National LGBT Health Awareness Week!

The LGBT Health Awareness Week is a very visible way for you to support the Coalition and promote a healthy LBGT community across the nation. We have 4 objectives for the LGBT Health Awareness Week:

• Through aggressive media relations and community outreach, raise awareness of the unique health concerns, as well as the very real health disparities, among LGBT communities.

• Educate the LGBT communities about the health issues that affect our lives in significant ways.

• Provide community health centers, local organizations, and community representatives with tools to amplify the national campaign at the local level.

• Educate medical and health care professionals in the area of cultural competency with regard to LGBT health.

DOWNLOAD ALL NINE LGBT HEALTH ADS AND FACTSHEETS!

As part of our campaign to educate LGBT communities about health issues that affect our lives in significant ways, we have prepared a series of 9 factsheets—each addressing a specific health concern in LGBT communities.

These factsheets and ads—all in PDF format—are now available online for use in activities in your local communities. For your convenience, each file is available in both high and low resolutions and can be downloaded individually (at the light blue buttons above) or together here as one compressed file.

"We are truly excited about the possibilities and potential for raising the awareness in our community and beyond around LGBT health in all of its issues. You and your organization's participation will ensure that we will be able to work together in a coordinated way and provide a unified voice at the forefront of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender health."
